Grace S. Martin

Grace S. Martin, age 100 of Massillon went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on February 12, 2018. She was born in Canton on May 11, 1917 to the late John and Emma (Trembly) Newman. She married Virgil Martin on September 29, 1935 and they shared nearly 70 years together until his passing on October 19, 2004. Grace was a Homemaker. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star #368 in Bolivar. She enjoyed reading, cooking, crocheting, playing the piano and singing church songs with her friends. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Carol Hayhurst, Carolyn Hoover and Bev Hamric (her caretaker for 9 years); 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren as well as a host of family and friends. A Celebration of her life will be held at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 1p.m. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of the service.
