Grace M. Spear

Grace M. Spear, 94 of St. Augustine, FL, formerly of Massillon, died on Sunday, October 23, 2011. She was born on May 18, 1917 in Massillon and was the daughter of the late Peter & Mary (Kohr) Hoffman. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Grace had lived with her daughter Nancy in Great Falls, Montana. They moved to Florida in 1983. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her flower garden, baking and cooking and going for long rides. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Spear in 1960, her great grandson Evan Spear and her son-in-law Ted Carper. She was the last surviving sibling of 9 children. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Carper of St. Augustine, FL, her son and daughter-in-law, Larry & Rita (Yingling) Spear of Massillon and her grandchildren, Lori (Jeff) Bricker and C. Scott Anita) Spear and her great grandchildren, Brittany Slutz, Tiffany Slutz, Dean Bricker, Alec Spear, Lilli Spear the late Evan's twin sister, and Teddy Spear. Private services will take place on Thursday at the Paquelet Funeral Home with Fr. Raymond Paul officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
