Grace J. Slicker

Grace J. Slicker, age 76 of Massillon, passed away at her home with her family at her side. She was born on July 8. 1942 in Massillon and was the daughter of the late Lewis M. and Margaret C. (Meiner) DeWalt. After raising her family, she went on to work at Nickel’s Bakery and Rose Lane Health Care Center. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Darrell P. Slicker in 2011, her grandchild Jennifer Slicker and her siblings, Lewis DeWalt, Jr., Marilyn Fichter and Evelyn DeWalt. Grace is survived by her children, Debbie (Bradley) Fair, David (Sue) Slicker, Suzi (John) Starkey, Cindy (John) Merriweather and Scott (Becky) Slicker, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and her siblings, Richard (Ann) DeWalt, Ronald (Sue) DeWalt, Margaret Smith and Betty VanVoorhis. The family would like to thank Community Hospice for the wonderful, compassionate care that they gave her and her daughter Debbie would like to thank her “earth angels”, Cindy, Michelle, Stefanie and Dakota for helping with mom during her last days. In keeping with Grace’s wishes cremation has taken place and there were no services.
