Goldie Shell, age 81 of Orrville, passed away Monday at the Massillon Community Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Grenada, Mississippi on March 22, 1924 to the late William & Dora (Fitzhugh) Jordan. She married Willie D. Shell in January of 1940 and they started their family together. They moved to Orrville in 1953. She accepted Christ & joined the church of God & Christ in 1955. After becoming a licensed evangelist mother Shell continued her ministry, teaching at State Conventions & also in Wayne and Stark counties. Goldie was well known for her devotion to her church & for her wonderful cooking. She was a loving mother & a devoted wife. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William Jordan and Jesse Fullove; one sister, Louvenia McCloud; two daughters, Martha Shell and Mary Ann Shell; two sons, James Shell and Sammy Shell. She is survived by Children Willie B. Shell of Michigan Helen & William Poole of Massillon Samuel Shell of Michigan John Shell of Massillon Edward Shell of Michigan Jeanette Shell of Massillon Brother James & Carole Kimble of Wisconsin 13 Grandchildren 16 Great Grandchildren And a host of nieces & nephews The service will be held at St. James A.M.E Zion church on Monday at 11:00 A.M. Friends may call from 6 - 8 P.M. on Sunday at the Paquelet Funeral Home, & one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
