Goldia "Goldie" Viola Liossis, 90, of Canton, passed away at home on April 4, 2024.
She was born on August 2, 1933 to the late Thomas and Rosella (Felix) Voulgares of East Conemaugh, PA.
Goldie was a graduate of Washington High School and a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Massillon. She had many hobbies over the years including bowling, knitting, crochet, needle point, embroidery, painting, and many other arts and crafts. Most recently her favorite was coloring. She was a social butterfly who loved reminiscing and telling stories to her family, friends, sewing group, and beauty shop. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was blessed to have 63 years with her beloved husband Chris, traveling the world and sharing life's adventures together. She will be forever missed and loved by all.
Goldia "Goldie" is survived by her loving children, Mary (Robert Jones- Deceased) Yeaman, Rose Ann (Dan) DaRe, Jean Holiday and Pete Liossis; grandchildren, Angelina (Dimitri) Verginis, Lisa DaRe, Sarah (Danny) Limbach, Suzi (Dave) Overbey, Chrissie (Edgar) Hernandez-Angeles, Ryan Holiday, and Jen (Cody) Byham; great-grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, Evan and William Hernandez-Angeles, Sydnie and Sofia Limbach, Maria and Aleka"Chrysoula" Verginis, Cassidy (Cordell) Bergert, and Zach Vaughn, and Joey and Cali Byham; former son-in-law, Ken (Linda Hernandez) Yeaman; and siblings, Rosetta Gehring and Gus Voulgares.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Christ P. Liossis; and siblings Delores Gallo, Jean Osburn, Albert Voulgares, Marie Messman, Doris Shaeffer, Nick Voulgares, and George Voulgares.
Visitation will be held Monday April 8, 2024, from 6 pm -8pm at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon, with a Trisagion service at 7:45pm .
The family will gather at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Massillon on Tuesday April 9, 2024 at 10am - 11am with funeral services to start at 11am in the church. The Rev. Fr. Spiro Kehayes, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Massillon.
