Gloria M. Racine

Gloria M. Racine, 86, of Canton, passed away on May 9, 2019. She was born on March 28, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio, grew up in Parma, attended Lourdes Academy and upon graduation worked as a secretary. In 1954 she met the love of her life, Mr. William J. (Bill) Racine and they married in September 1955. They moved to Massillon in 1961 and called the Canton/Massillon area home ever since. Gloria lived a beautiful, faith-filled life centered on her family. She was very involved at her church, St. Mary, in Massillon for many years. In these later years she attended St. Paul in N. Canton. She very much loved all the grandchildren, family get togethers, and occasional reunions. Gloria especially loved her work at the American Cancer Society and the friends she made there. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Matilda (Masojdek) Hynes; brother, Eugene (Gene) Hynes and husband, of 50 years, William J. Racine. Gloria will be dearly missed by: children, Dean (Robin) Racine, David J. Racine, Patricia (Daniel) Muffet, and William P. (Suzanna) Racine; grandchildren: Jennifer, Jacqueline, Ashley, Brittany, Marcus, Morgan, Amy, Nathan and Sara; great grandchildren: Blake, Sydney, Dominic and Camryn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 241 S Main St, North Canton, OH 44720. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
