Gloria K. Carrick

Gloria K. Carrick, 63 of Perry Township, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at her residence. Gloria was born on January 17, 1952 in Massillon, the daughter of the late Warren and Margaret (Widmer) Essig. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1971 graduate of Perry High School. Gloria worked at Target in guest services for the last 10 years. She previously worked at Value City for 23 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and truly enjoyed spending time with her family. Gloria was a member of Richville U.C.C. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Essig. She is survived by her children, Michelle (Todd Workman) Carrick, Alicia (Benjamin) Griffin, and Robert (Rachel Bice) Carrick; her grandchildren, Jordyn Lane, Kira Griffin, Todd Workman, Jr., and Cash Griffin; her sister, Carol (Don) Schalmo; and her brother, Raymond (Laurie) Essig. A Celebration of Gloria's life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Wales Rd. in Massillon. Burial will follow at Richville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to assist with expenses.
