Gloria E. McCalla, age 82 of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. She was born on June 6, 1931 in Central Falls, RI and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Martha (Davenport) Bergstrand. Gloria was a graduate of Bryant College of Business, she was co-owner of Cranberry Cove, was a Girl Scout leader, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, was active with the Washington High School Choir Boosters and was a past recipient of the Stark County Republican Party Woman of the Year. Gloria and her family participated in the A.F.S, student exchange program and the Ulster project. She loved to travel and was an active member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl McCalla in 2008, her brother Russell Ryan and her sister Connie Roberts. She is survived by her daughter, Carla (Timothy) Moore, her son, Erick (Holly) McCalla, her grandchildren, Benjamin Berner, Nicholas McCalla, Ericka (Kipp) Huntsberger and Chauncey Moore and Holli Moore, her great grandchildren, Madison Berner, Brendan Moore, Cayla and Karli Huntsberger and her brother, Robert Bergstrand. Cremation has taken place and her cremated remains will be interred beside her husband at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. A memorial service will take place on Monday at 12:00 Noon at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church with Rectors Henry Harris and Wayne Yeager officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Those who wish may make a memorial contribution to St. Timothy's ECW or the donor's charity of choice.
