Gloria D. Patterson, age 73 passed away on July 17, 2020 at her home in Monroeville, Ohio, surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Walter E. and Juanita (Mitchell) Ellis on January 03, 1947 in Canton, Ohio, where she was raised. She graduated from Canton South High School in 1965. Gloria and Richard moved to Monroeville in 1986, where they settled and raised their family. She was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and proud member of the Kingdom Hall in Norwalk, Ohio. While living in Canton, Gloria owned and operated The Fish Cove Restaurant and she worked for GE Supply, also in Canton. After moving to Monroeville, she took a job with Briarfield of Milan nursing home. Her most important job of all was a homemaker to her family. Gloria was a kind and loving person who enjoyed traveling to Canton to visit her family, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Gloria is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard H. Patterson of Monroeville, Ohio; by her children Richard D. Patterson and Rahshell D. Darden, both of Canton, Ohio; by her six grandchildren, Richard Jr. Romello, Julian, Aniecea, Sienna, and Brayden. She is also survived by her siblings, Myrtle Simms of Chicago, Illinois, Geneva (Johnny) Lewis of Canton, Ohio, Doria (Roger) Taylor of Canton, Ohio, Donald Ellis of Columbus, Ohio, Benita Birl of Canton, Ohio, Deborah Harkless of Atlanta, Georgia, and Michelle Ellis of Canton, Ohio; and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by her siblings Walter Ellis, Greg Ellis, and Theresa Gracia. Friends may call from 3p.m. until the time of the service, at 4p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the Paquelet Funeral Home, located at 1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon, OH 44646.
