Gloria Arney

Gloria D. Arney, 87, of Massillon, Ohio joyfully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on August 14, 2022. Born July 7, 1935 to William E. and Jewel Marie Harmon and grew up with 8 siblings. On September 1, 1950 Gloria married Leroy (Jack) and began an amazing journey of love that spanned 72 years. Together they shared life with their 4 daughters and 1 son, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren as well as many individuals that became an important part of their lives. She was a cook in the Tuslaw School System at the High School then retiring as head cook at Moffitt Heights Elementary. She was a member of Woodlawn Church of God and serves many years in multiple capacities. She was Nursery Director, Ladies Ministry Board and Choir Member. She loved baking and sewing. She made a lot of clothing for her children including their wedding attire. She was preceded in death by her parents William E. and Jewel Marie Harmon; brothers W.L. Harmon, John Harmon, and Gerald Lee Harmon; sisters Willa Dean Harmon, Wilma Arney, and Paulette Cole. Gloria is survived by her loving husband Leroy “Jack” Arney; daughters Gloria Carroll, Rebecca Ehrhart, Cindy (Fred) Hayes, and Rita (Mike) Geissinger; son Larry (Connie) Arney; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister Darlene (Beecher) Johnson; brother Jim Harmon as well as many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 20th from 10am to 12 pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral services will begin at 12pm with Pastor Matt Coutcher officiating and burial will take place at Brookfield Cemetery.
