R. Glenn Parsons R. Glenn Parsons, 92, of Perry, passed away August 22, 2018. He was born February 22, 1926, in Adena, Ohio; a son of the late Sam and Mabel Parsons. Glenn attended school at Wayne High School in Bloomingdale, Ohio. Joined the United states Marine Corp in 1944, during World War II. Later was put into the Air Corp in the Marines. He was discharged in 1948 after serving 2 years in China. On his return, he worked for Powhatan Mining. In 1949, Glenn married Alma. In 1953, he moved to Canton and worked for Dolvin Mining. Then he went to Ashland Oil in 1978 and retired there in 1988 due to health problems. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was named “Worker of the Year” in 1995. Glenn belongs to the American Legion Post 0221 of Massillon. He enjoyed wood working and craft shows. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife Alma Parsons; his son Gregory Parsons; his parents; and his sister. He leaves behind his granddaughters Jodi (Chad) Geaslen, and Jill (Conor) Colgan; his daughter-in-law Kristine Parsons; 4 great-grandchildren; brother Eugene (Lorraine) Parsons; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, in the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Pastor Tina Siroki officiating. Calling hours will be held from 9-11am also in the funeral home on Wednesday prior to the service. Interment will be in the North Lawn Cemetery.
