Glenn H. Vannoy, Sr.

Glenn H. Vannoy, Sr., age 83 of Massillon, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Affinity Medical Center. He was born on February 22, 1927 in Morgantown, WV and was the son of the late Gaius and Sarah Frances (Wilson) Vannoy. He served his country while in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was stationed in the Philippine Islands. In 1989 Glenn retired from Heckett’s Engineering where he was a heavy equipment operator. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 8 siblings. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn S. (Wilhelm) Vannoy, whom he married on July 11, 1953, his children, Sheila Vannoy, Glenn Vannoy, Jr. and Chris Vannoy and his sister Freda Woods all of Massillon. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place. There are no services or calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Hospice of Stark County.
