Glenn H. Brenner

Glenn H. Brenner, age 80 of Massillon, died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Affinity Medical Center-Massillon Campus. He was born on October 10, 1926 in Bowdil, Ohio and was the son of the late Henry & Anna (Hooley) Brenner. He was a lifelong area resident. Glenn was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy. In 1989, he retired from Ohio Edison where he was a Line Supervisor. His memberships included the Massillon Lions Club, where he served as President in 1978 and was the 1980 recipient of the Sherm Roney Award (Lions Man of the Year). Foe more than 40 years, Glenn enjoyed his involvement with the Lions Club’s Annual Show. He was a member of the American Legion Post 221, AARP # 3336, the Massillon Museum and the Massillon Heritage Foundation. Along with his wife Carol, he volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed playing golf in the Ohio Edison Golf League and was active with the Wesley United Methodist Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America. He remained active as his grandchildren began scouting. With all of his community involvement and activities, nothing gave him more pleasure than his family. He is survived by his wife, Carol V. (Ernst) Brenner whom he married on November 12, 1949, his children and their spouses, Rebecca S. & Thomas Kirven of Massillon, Lynne Anne & James McQuade of Spokane, Washington and Loreen K. & Kurt Walterhouse of New Vienna, Ohio, his grandchildren, Glenn Kirven, Andrew Kirven, Shane Walterhouse, Trae Walterhouse, Max Walterhouse, Gabriela McQuade and Elizabeth McQuade. Also surviving are his sisters, Elsie Lawrence, Esther Steiner, Dorothy Eibling and Evelyn Forrer. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 12:00 Noon at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Leslie Peine officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 11:30 – 12 Noon.
