Glenn D. Valentine, age 63 of Massillon passed away on February 26, 2018. He was born on October 23, 1954 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the late Harold and Leona Valentine and raised by the late Donald and Opal Corrine Border. He was a 1974 graduate of Washington High School. Glenn served his country as a Boiler Technician aboard the USS Thomas C. Hart (FF-1092) He worked as a maintenance specialist at Heinz for 32 years until his retirement in 2016. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, camping on the family property in Ritchie County, West Virginia, Enjoyed his Ohio Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Indians, and Massillon Tigers. Glenn enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the annual Fourth of July Picnic. He will forever be remembered as kind hearted, generous, loving, strong-willed father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his son Glenn J (Amanda) Valentine; his granddaughters Shelbi Nesbitt and Aubri Valentine; his brothers Ronald (Betty) Moore, Robert (Norma) Valentine, Jerry (Leslee) Valentine and Larry (Karen) Border; his sister Regina (Chuck) Penska; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his brothers Roger Valentine and John Everett Border. A Celebration gathering of Glenn’s life will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Saturday, March 03, 2018 from 5-7p.m. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of Glenn’s honorable and faithful service to his country.
