Glen R. Winkler, 87 of Jackson Township, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015. He was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio on May 6, 1927 and was the son of the late Elmer and Emma (Preece) Winkler. Glen was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Yellow Freight where he was a driver. He was a member of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church. He loved gardening, woodworking, tinkering, but above all, his family. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Jane A. Winkler in 2009, his brothers, Robert, Harold and Delbert Winkler and his sister Kathryn Byers. He is survived by his children, Leanne Johnson, Kelley Betz, Gay Honaker and her husband Ron and Scott Winkler and his wife Laura, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Glen Winkler will take place on Tuesday, February 24th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Jacob's Lutheran Church with Rev. Lynn Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 P.M. and at the church on Tuesday from 10-11 A.M.
