Gertrude F. King

Gertrude F. King, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Affinity Medical Center, following a brief illness. She was born in Massillon on August 4, 1926 to the late Otto & Rose Lena Galey. A graduate of Washington High School, she went to work at the War Department in Washington D.C. during WWII and after the war returned to the Massillon area. Gertrude was a very active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, serving on many committees throughout her life. She was known for her caring and gentle spirit. She is survived by her three daughters, Cindy (Carl) Mazzocca of Massillon, Sharon Bearden of Pine Mountain , GA, Debra Ann King of Massillon, three grandchildren, Carlena ( Brandon) DeAngelis, Carl (Jessica) Mazzocca and Chris D. Mazzocca all of Massillon, a brother, Charles Galey of Columbus and a sister Ruth Galey of Arlington, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin King, a sister, Bertha Hiegl and two brothers, Otto and Edward Galey. Friends may call at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 9:00AM - 10:00AM with funeral services following at 10:00AM. Burial will be at Sixteen Cemetery.
