"Gertrude"

Adda "Gertrude" Heffernan of Massillon, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 19, 2023.

Adda was born October 12, 1934 to Hilmar and Adda Beisecker. Adda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James and her beloved son, Jeffrey. She is survived by her sisters, Lois Kennedy of Powell, Ohio and Hilma Little of Evans, Georgia, her children, James (Annette) Heffernan of Grove City, Ohio, Jeanne (Mark) Oldham of Canton, Ohio, Kurt Heffernan of Pooler, Georgia, Todd (Jonna) Heffernan of Canton, Ohio, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered for her love of sweets, shopping and Amish Country. She was very passionate about music and gave piano lessons to numerous children throughout the Stark County area.

Our family would like to thank the best neighbors in the world, Tom and Gayle Windell for the help they always provided to our family. We could not have asked for a more loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A role-model mother, who was loving, kind, compassionate, empathetic and above all, accepting of any and everyone. We will miss you daily, tell dad and Jeffrey hello from us and we love them.

Services will be on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 127 Cherry Road NW, Massillon, Ohio with calling hours noon to one with a service following. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
