Germaine Veronica Bright

Germaine Veronica Bright, age 93, of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Germaine was born on August 27, 1920 in Massillon the daughter of the late Frank R. and Madeline (Schott) Wantz. She graduated from Mt. Marie High School in 1938. Gerry worked for Ohio Bureau Employment Services and Sugardale Meats where she retired in 1981. She was a Cub Scout 'Den Mother' at Troop 14 in Richville, Ladies Auxiliary for the Richville Fire Department. She volunteered at Aultman NICU where she made memory books for the infants. Gerry loved reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved caring for her family whether she was sewing, baking or shuttling her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William 'Bill' M. Bright Jr. in 2004 and her brothers James E. Wantz, Thomas Wantz, and Donald Wantz. She is survived by her children and their spouses, William M. (Cathy) Bright III, and Frances B. (Daniel) Kessler; her sister and brother-in-law, Frances C. (Hubert) Hummel; her grandchildren, Ben (Amy) Bright, Brian (fiance' Jess Besecker) Bright, Jason (Jennifer) Kessler, Nathan (Jackie) Kessler, Kaitlin Kessler and Jillian (John) Olihan; her great grandchildren, Sammi, Jack, Dominic, and Gianna. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Fr. David Weikart will be officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Friends may gather at the church from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
