Geraldine Orwick Reese

Geraldine "Jerry" Orwick Reese, age 94 of Hopewell, VA, formerly of Massillon, Ohio, passed away on December 29, 2013 at her daughter, Janet Evans' residence. She was born in Massillon on November 1, 1919 and was the daughter of the late James O. and Lucille (Davis) Hart. She was a 1937 graduate of Washington High School and was a former member of the Massillon Women's Club, the Massillon Museum, numerous bridge clubs and two golf leagues. Jerry was also a member of the Dalton Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School and actively attended the Women's Association, Women's Circle and Bible Study. She was also a Girl Scout Leader and was always involved in her children's activities. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Orwick and George Reese her sister Margaret "Margie" Shriber, and her brother James Hart. Survivors include her daughters, Janet Evans, Linda Orwick, Barbara Braden and Sara Orwick, her son-in-law Geoff Braden, 5 granddaughters, a great-granddaughter, and a great-grandson. Cremation has taken place and her cremated remains will be interred at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. A service of celebration of Jerry's life will be held at a later date.
