Gerry L. Taylor, age 92, of the Villages, Florida peacefully ended her celebration of life on Friday, December 6th, 2013. She was born on September 30, 1921 in Louisville, Ohio and was the eldest daughter of the late Dr. Arnold and Florence Bircher of Canton, Ohio. Gerry graduated from Bowling Green University where until her passing was the oldest living homecoming queen from her college. Gerry was a woman of steadfast faith, hope and eternal deliverance. She truly enjoyed a wonderful family life and a special time of sharing and giving to all whom she encountered. Gerry was an accomplished pianist while investing her life in two celebrated careers, teaching young people and serving as director of hospital patient services. Her husbands, Max H. Barker and Jay "Coop" Taylor precede her in death, along with her son Tod W. Barker and her brother Dr. Wendell A. Bircher. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Lex and Debbie Barker of Atlanta, Georgia and their children, Jason (Shannon) and Brandon and Jay and Karen Barker of Boca Raton, Florida and their children, Bryce and Dana. Also surviving are Larry and Rick Taylor (Kris) and Pat Migge, the children of Jay "Coop" Taylor and Gerry's sister Helen Peterson of the Villages, Florida. A service to celebrate the life of Gerry L. Taylor will take place at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road N.E., Massillon, Ohio on Friday, December 13th at 3:30 P.M. with Celebrant Kevin O'Brien officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:30 - 3:30 P.M. Burial will take place the next day privately. Memorial contributions are suggested in Gerry's name to the American Cancer Society.
