Gerald L. Shilling, 66 of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday April 30, 2013 following an extended illness, to be reunited with his parents, whom he dearly missed. He was born in Massillon on July 23, 1946 to the late Arvine & Bernadine (Janata) Shilling. Gerald was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1966. He was a veteran of the United States Army, after returning from the Army, he went to work for Superior Dairy and retired in 2003. An avid fan of Massillon Tiger Football, he also loved to cheer for OSU, Cleveland Browns, and NASCAR. Gerald also enjoyed watching pro-wrestling. He is survived by his wife, Karen A. (Moore) Shilling, whom he married on May 2, 1970, two daughters, Laura Shilling and her fiancé, Mike Shaner , Christine and Jack Gardner all of Massillon, three grandchildren, Carly and Kaiden Gardner and Adrianna Shaner, two sisters, Jean ( David) Lyon and JoAnn ( Gary) Lantzer both of Massillon and two nephews. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:00AM, Kevin O'Brien, Funeral Celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
