Gerald "Jerry" Allen Gainey, 78, of Massillon, passed away on January 10, 2023 at Aultman Hospital. He was born on November 23, 1944 to the late Charles and Mildred (DeWalt) Gainey in Massillon, OH. He was a 1963 graduate of Tuslaw High School. He married Mary Hartnett on October 22, 1974 and the shared over 48 years together.

Jerry worked as a Carpenter for Roseman Construction until his retirement. He enjoyed model trains, antique tractors. He was actively involved in the Stark County Fair with the Tuslaw 4H, he was member of the Holmes County Steam & Engine Association, Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop in North Lawrence. Jerry was someone who would help anyone in need and someone who loved the Lord. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Jerry is survived by his loving Wife, Maryalice; his children Robin R. (Brint) Hess, Scott A. (Pam) Gainey, Richard D. (Lynn) Gainey, Charissa E. Gainey, Heather R. (Mike) Bucher, Gerald A. (Trisha) Gainey, Jr., Son, Chad E Keller; his grandchildren, Marissa, Miranda, Brittney, Joseph, Ryan, Adam, Kara, Logan, Nathan, Lillian, Lucas, Noah and Grace; his great-grandchildren, Payton, Bryce, Baylee, Paxton, Scarlett and Blaire. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his Daughter, Geraldine A. Gainey.

A Celebration of his life will be held at Newman Baptist Church on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11 a.m. Pastor Dave Kimberly. Donation in Jerry's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice. To leave messages of sympathy and support go to www.paquelet.com
