Georgiana H. Hawkins

Georgiana H. Hawkins, 87 of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at her home with her family at her side. She was born in Barberton, Ohio on December 15, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Milan and Lela Myatovich. She was a 1947 graduate of Washington High School and had been active with the Massillon Women’s Club. She was a member of St. George Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church. Georgiana held several jobs in various fields, but her favorite job was being the matriarch of her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hawkins in 2015, her brother Willis Myatovich and her sister Jennie Clark. She is survived by her sons, Todd (Velecia Valentine) Hawkins and Mark (Tami) Hawkins, her grandchildren, including twin granddaughters, Kasey and Kelsey, Van, Tess and Ty. The funeral will take place on Friday at 12:00 Noon at St. George Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Alexsa Pavichevich officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 11-12 noon. Memorials may be made in Georgiana’s name to the church, 4667 Applegrove NW, North Canton, OH 44720. The family appreciated and would like to thank all of those who provided care to Georgiana during her final days.
