Georgia Ross, 89, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2022, at Brooklyn Pointe Assisted Living after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on June 23, 1933, to the late Peter and Marianthe (Kakake) Poulelis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas A. Ross; brothers William, John and Michael Poulelis and sister Diane Ifantiedes; sons-in-law Tom Watson and Jim Bell; and brothers and sisters-in law on both sides of her family. She was the last survivor of a large Greatest Generation Family, one that contributed immensely to their country and community, without question nor hesitation.
She is survived by her children, Thomas J. (Melanie) Ross of Cleveland, OH; Patricia Watson of Auburn NY, and Nancy Bell of Westlake OH; grandchildren Tyler (Dr.Kate) Watson, Halle (Ted) Grace, Todd (Kasey) Watson, Captain Ryan Bell, Chris (Liz) Bell, Caroline and AJ Ross; several great- grandchildren, and dozens of nephews and nieces.
Georgia worked as a bookkeeper since a young adult, at Superior Meats, the Massillon Holiday Inn, and retiring from the Canton Sign Company in 1998. She enjoyed taking walks and volunteering at the Perry Library, spending time with her longtime friends from Massillon, and tending to her beautiful yard and flower beds. Georgia was a lifetime member of St. George Church, where she volunteered her time for many years. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and cherished her visits with them, especially sloppy kisses from her granddog, Gunny.
