Georgia A. Showalter, age 95 of Massillon, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012 after a long illness with heart disease. Georgia was born on September 11, 1916 in Belmont, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Susan (Cain) Showalter. She was a graduate of Belmont High School and moved to Massillon in 1950. Georgia retired from the Eaton Corporation after 25 ½ years of service. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Lloyd Showalter and two sisters, Goldie Hartley and Ora Wilson and her cousin Otis Miller with whom she resided. She is survived by her niece Mary Cummings, two nephews, Howard (Dorothy) Showalter and Virgil Nichols, two great nieces, Sue (Bill) Hoffmeyer and Vicki (Augie) Bennett as well as several other great nieces and great nephews. Georgia was a member of the Church of Christ in Massillon. A service to celebrate Georgia's life will take place on Monday at 1:00 P.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Evangelist Glenn Hawkins officiating. A private burial will take place at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12-1:00 P.M.
