George W. Williams, age 74 of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 2, 2011. His death followed a lengthy illness. He was born on May 29, 1936 in Holloway, Ohio and was the son of the late Edgar and Helen B. (Bethel) Williams. George served his country with the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from Capital University. He then taught in the Massillon City school system from where he graduated in 1954. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Clinton Lodge #47 F. & A.M., the Massillon Commandery, Hiram Chapter, # 18, R.A.M. and the Scottish rite, Valley of Canton. George is survived by wife, Donna Jean (Hill) Williams, his sons, Michael G. Williams, Craig A. Williams and Kevin P. (Elizabeth) Williams, his grandchildren, Tracy Williams-Masalko, Tiffany Williams-Brand, Tyler Williams and Heather Williams and his great grandchildren, Alanna, Laila and Hunter. A service to celebrate and remember the life of George W. Williams will take place on, Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Walter Jordan officiating with Pastor Sue Rodgers assisting. Cremation has taken place and his cremated remains will be buried later at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday one hour before the service. The family suggests memorials be made in the name of George Williams to the Organ Fund at Faith Lutheran Church.
