George V. Musisca, 88, of North Canton, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 14, 2024. He was born in Canton on August 5, 1935, to the late Augustino and Josephina (Moauro) Musisca.
He was a 1953 graduate of Timken Senior High School and, following graduation, George proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Upon his return, George furthered his education at Indiana Technical College where he earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. George then worked for Diebold for many years. After Diebold, George became a professor of electronics at Stark State College; retiring after decades of service.
Aside from his employment over the years, George stayed active in his community as well.
He was a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Canton, was a longtime member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and sang in both choirs. George was also a longtime member of the Massillon Lion’s Club where he continued to use his passion for singing in their annual shows.
In his retirement years, George loved volunteering his time at Aultman Hospital as a “cuddler” for the babies in the NICU.
He was a devoted Cleveland Indians fan, and in his spare time, he greatly enjoyed winemaking; he loved to make, bottle, and share it with family and friends. Additionally, he and Carolyn would often meet at the Nova Care therapy center with a close group of friends for conversation, exercise, and friendship.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn (Huey) Musisca; children, Vincent Musisca, Joanna (John) Ridge; Christopher (Alyse) Musisca; grandsons, Logan Musisca and Noah Musisca; and his brother Augustine (Carol) Musisca.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his siblings, Pat Musisca, Nancy Alexander, Anthony Musisca, John Musisca and Dominick Musisca.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 19th from 4-6 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 20th at 11 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
