George Rosca, Jr. age 86 of Perry Township, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Amherst Meadows. George was born on November 25, 1926 in Canton, the son of the late George & Varvara (Nistor) Rosca, Sr. George was a 1945 graduate of McKinley High School. He worked for Republic Steel/ LTV for 46 years. George was a member of St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral, Massillon AARP, Canton McKinley Eagles Arie #2370 and the Buckeye Country Music Association. George was an avid bowler, spending a lot of time at Hall of Fame Lanes. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Victor Rosca. He is survived by his loving wife Eugenia (Racar) Rosca with whom he shared 42 years of marriage; his daughter, Daniela C. Sexton; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Sexton, Eddie Sexton III and Otis Sexton; his great grandchildren, Samaria Yeager and Canaan Yeager, Jr.; and his loving niece, Adela (Bob) Seal. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. George Romanian Catholic Cathedral in Canton. Very Rev. Ovidiu Marginean will be Officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Paquelet Funeral Home: 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon, on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and from 10-11 a.m. at the church on Monday. There will be a Saracusta Service at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. George Catholic Cathedral in George's name.
