George P. Popa Jr., age 73 passed away on January 10, 2017. He was born on December 15, 1943 to the late George and Rose Popa. He was a Timken High School graduate. He was married to Rachael Zedaker until her passing on April 30, 2015. George served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from the city of Canton. George was a Musician and played Organ with a number of bands thru the years. He was also very mechanically inclined and could build something out of nothing. He was also a train enthusiast known for his train horns on his truck. He was the kind of guy who never knew a stranger and was a friend to all. Above all George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. George is survived by his children Neely Medlock, Rachelle Hemperly, George Popa, Samuel Popa and Jack Vicencio; his grandchildren Love Proctor, Telijah McCollum, Nikeese McCollum, Nadia Wiegreff, Llelena Blanco, Jacob Harter, Vincent Popa, Vasile Popa and Alonzo Vicencio; his sister Marianne Marks as well as a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
