George P. 'Ike' Ferrich

George P. “Ike” Ferrich, 93 of Massillon, died on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. He was born in Massillon on October 6, 1917 and was the son of the late Michael and Barbara (Kasunic) Ferrich. He worked at Massillon Steel Castings before retiring in 1977. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Croation Fraternal Union Lodge # 600. Along with his parents, Ike was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Ferrich in 1972, his sisters, Catherine “Kata” Ferrich, Maritza Ferrich and Ljuba Zupan and his brother Anthony “Tony” Ferrich. He is survived by his son Michael (Lorie) Ferrich of North Canton, his daughters, Barbara (Gary) Thomas of Wadsworth, OH and Connie (Andy) Betro of North Canton and his grandson Vincent Cull. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. Raymond L. Paul officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday at the Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon, OH from 9:00-9:45 A.M. The family suggests memorials be made in the name of George P.
