George ‘Joe’ Fabianich III, age 65, passed away Friday May 2, 2008 in his home with his daughters by his side with whom he loved so very much. His short battle with lung cancer is finally over. Joe was preceded in death by his parents George & Sarah Fabianich and his brother Paul Fabianich. Joe was a loving and caring husband to Della (Laughlin) Fabianich. They shared 44 years of marriage on March 23rd. Joe was a wonderful father to Mary (Don) Haer of Dalton, Gina Fabianich & Dennis Ford of Massillon, Nikki Fabianich & Timothy Riordan of Massillon, Cheri (Daniel) Gordon of Massillon. Joe was a loving grandfather to Alexzandra Haer, Logan Haer & Sophia Gordon. A brother to: John (Becky) Fabianich, Lucille (Dave) Schuler and Julia Fabianich. Joe will be greatly missed by his special buddy his “big boy” an English mastiff Mojo. Joe was a wonderful, loving husband and father who took care of and was always there for his family. His love for his girls and their families will live on forever in their hearts. Joe was a retired Sergeant with the Massillon Police Department. His lifetime accomplishments and memberships were past president and member of the FOP Henderson Lodge #105, current Commander of the Amvets Post #6, USMC Veteran, Lifetime member of Croation Fraternal Union Lodge #600 and a member of Moose Lodge #441. Henderson Lodge will conduct Honors at 8 PM. Joe was an avid fisherman who enjoyed getting together with the guys for a fishing trip, and also looked forward to his weekly poker games. Joe had the best of friends and they know who they are. Joe was a man of trust, strength and courage. And as his granddaughter Alexzandra would say who needs a Santa Claus when you have a grandpa like mine. He will be deeply missed and always loved. The family would prefer contributions to either the Parkinson Foundation or the Stark County Humane Society in Joe’s name. Messages of support and sympathy can be sent to www.paquelet.com.
