George J. Fabianich, II, age 85 of Massillon, died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Altercare of Nobles Pond. He was born on February 15, 1920 in Pag, Yugoslavia and was the son of the late George & Mary Fabianich. He was a Massillon resident for most of his life. George was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was a life member of the Croation Fraternal Union #600, a life member of the D.A.V. #38 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. During that period he was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. George lettered in football for 3 years under Paul Brown. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Sarah L. Fabianich and his son Paul Fabianich. He is survived by his children, Lucille M. (David) Schuler of Carrollton,OH, Julia M. Fabianich of Massillon, George J. “Joe” (Della) Fabianich III of Massillon and John M. (Becky) Fabianich of Massillon, 10 grandchildren, 15 Great grandchildren, sisters, Stella Crescenze and Mary Retkowski both of Massillon and brother Andrew Fabianich of Colorado. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home with Fr. Raymond L. Paul officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
