George "Ed" E. Long Jr., 71, of Wilmot, passed away unexpectedly on October 14, 2022 at Aultman Hospital.
He was born on October 30, 1950 to the late George and Eda (McCartney) Long in Charleston, West Virginia.
He married Amanda A. Ford on February 10, 2004.
Ed worked as a Laborer for Ferro Corporation for 27 years until his retirement. He was a member of Member of Local #1015 - Laborers Union. He loved the great outdoors and could be found, hunting, fishing and camping. Ed loved spending time with his family. Ed was a happy go lucky guy, who was an all around great guy and made people smile. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
George is survived by his loving Wife, Amanda; his daughter Christine I (Richard) Plaster;his grandchildren, William and Michael Plaster, his brother, Bub Long; his sisters Mary Ferrebee and Edie (Heith) Palek; his special nephew Charlie Long; his father-in-law Tim Ford; his faithful canine companions Max and Duke and host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, family and friends. In addition to his parents Ed was preceded in death by his sisters Kathleen Townsend, Jaqueline Payne and his brother Charles Long
