George Cornell

George Cornell, age 93 of Massillon passed away Wednesday November 4, 2015. George was born December 28, 1921 in Massillon to the late George & Margaret (Talerico) Cornell. He graduated from Washington High School and entered the Army and served in Africa and Europe. George retired from Republic Steel after 42 years of service. George embodied everything that makes our country Great. His family will remember his unconditional love and compassion for all those around him. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Cornell; three sisters, Helen Adorjan, Gerry Spinden, Florence Cornell and a great grandson, Christian. He is survived by two daughters, Pamela Porrini and Susan (Thom) Barker; grandchildren, Tottie, Christian, Seth and Matthew Porrini; Emily (Dan) Leite, Lisa, Evan Barker; great grandchildren, Michael, Jared, Corey, Chase, Grace, Vincent Porrini, Johnny and Jace Drake; great-great grandchildren, Madyson, Aven, Aaliyah, Leilani, Jared Jr. and Grayson Porrini. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 AM Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
