Gary L. Amstutz, age 53 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Gary was born on December 2, 1957 in Wooster the son of Donald Amstutz and Wilma (Rigsby) Fahrney. Gary made his living as a professional semi driver. He was a Vietnam War veteran and served his country in the Marines. Gary was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and wheeling. He was always found working around the home doing some sort of project. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Amstutz and his daughter, Susan Amstutz. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Lora (Jennings) Amstutz, whom he married on April 10, 1982; his sons, Matthew, David (Mandy), Jonathan, and Christopher Amstutz; his grandchildren, Angelyna, Colton, and Briana; his mother, Wilma Fahrney; his sisters, Penny (Bill) Schonauer, Linda (Ray) Flasck and Sharon Gause; his brother, Rick Amstutz; his sister-in-laws, Cynthia (Ken) Chapman and Mary Alice (Harry) Aslanes; as well as many friends. A Celebration of Gary’s Life and Home Going will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary Baptist Church, his pastor, Rev. Tim Mishler will be officiating. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon and one hour prior to the service at the church.
