Gary W. Davis, 70, of Massillon passed away Wednesday evening March 11, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born November 30, 1938 in Massillon to the late Dale H. Davis and Alma L Davis- Smith. Gary was a crane operator with Tyson Roller Bearing for 27 years. He was a member of the Massillon Moose Lodge # 481, and the Army-Navy Club. He enjoyed country music, motorcycles, and watching the Price is Right. In his younger years he was an avid baseball player. Gary loved his kids and his family, and especially enjoyed watching his grandson Corey play football. He married Diana (Gregory) January 18, 1963 and she survives along with children Scott W. (Barbara DeWitt) Davis of Woodruff, SC; daughters Kimberly (David) Minor of Taylors, SC, Lori Davis-Hildreth of Massillon, Brenda (John) Pryor of Canton; sisters Denise (Harvey) Woods, and Patricia (John) Reidenbach both of Massillon; grandchildren Ashley, Corey, Shonda, Shawn, Jennifer, Jason, Jessica, and Dominic; 3 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Karen Miller, grandson Gregory Mann, and nephew Dennis Smith. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd. NE with funeral services there at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Rick Gayheart officiating. Burial will follow in Brookfield Cemetery. Following services friends and family are invited to the Woods home. Memorial contributions in Gary’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
