Gainnell (Franklin) Hendricks

Gainnell (Franklin) Hendricks age 84 of Massillon passed away Sunday September 18, 2011 at Amherst Meadows. She was born October 9, 1926 in Birmingham, AL to the late Benjamin Franklin & Malinda (Rice) Toles. Gainnell live most of her life in Massillon and retired from the former Ekco Products. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and the Food Service Ministry. She loved to travel and enjoyed taking care of children. Gainnell had a love for cats. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John T. Hendricks (1987); one sister, Bernice Thompson and four brothers, Willie Franklin, Sam Toles,, Thomas Lee Toles and Rueben Toles. Gainnell is survived by two children: Vicki Long of Gaithersburg, MD and Terry (Estella) Young of Inglewood, CA; sisters & brothers; Roberta (Alonzo) Harris, Richard Toles, Lawrence Toles all of Canton, OH; Lewis Toles of Massillon, OH; Benjamin (Claire) Franklin of Cleveland, OH. Grandchildren and great grandchildren; Tiki Edwards, Terry Young, Jr., Rahkman Waller, Terri V Young, Beau James Young; great-grandchildren; Taive, Jade, Maxiums, Jeffrey and Jasmine. She leaves five God children: Gaylin Johnson, Kervin Brown, Michael Jabbaar, Jameel Lemon and Shameerah Lemon. She has two life-long friends; Helen Dorsey and Frances Furlow and a special friend Judy Phillips and a host of other relatives and friends. A Homegoing Service for Mrs. Hendricks will be 11 AM Friday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Massillon, her pastor Rev. Joseph Harkless will officiate.
