Gail L. Funderburk, 76, of Jackson Township, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024. Gail was born on November 7, 1947 in Massillon, Ohio the daughter of Emil and Glenna Welty.
Gail was a 1965 graduate of Jackson High School. She worked for Enterprise Aluminum Company where she worked as the credit manager secretary. She met the love of her life, Robert Funderburk, though a mutual friend while he was on active duty in the Navy and they married in 1970. Following her marriage to her husband, she moved to Brunswick, GA, then worked for Nalley Honda as the bookkeeper and retired in 2000. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, and playing slots at Mountaineer Casino. She was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cavs, Massillon Tigers football and Ohio State football. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Funderburk, whom she shared 54 years of marriage; children, Gretchen Johnson, and Kevin (Damaris) Funderburk; grandchildren, Harper Johnson, Briley Johnson, Nicholas Funderburk, and Zoe Funderburk; sisters, Carole (Larry) Snodgrass and Susan Welty; special niece, Jennifer Welty; special cousin, Howard Kemp; brother-in-law, Edward Gehrlich; and special friends, Pamela Goff, and Diane Dunlap.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Gehrlich.
