Frederick W. Strauss

Frederick W. Strauss, age 85 of Perry Township, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Affinity Medical Center. Frederick was born on July 17, 1926 in California, PA the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Moser) Strauss. Frederick was a WWII Army veteran and served in the Rainbow Division in Germany. He was an agent for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for 30 years and retired in 1980. Some of his hobbies included fishing, hunting, and lately walking the mall with friends. Family card games were always a highlight in his life. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Strasser) Strauss with whom he shared 62 years of marriage; his children, Kenneth (Patricia) Strauss, Debra Kirschner (Strauss), Daniel (Cindie) Strauss and Donald Strauss; his grandchildren, Catherine (Scott) Mattingly, Julie Kirschner, Jennifer (Ed) Case, Elizabeth Strauss, and Jaimie Strauss; his great-grandchildren, Thomas and Richard Jack Mattingly; his sisters, Elizabeth Uhl and Delores Young. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Affinity Medical Center, especially Angel, Brenda, and Allison; and concerned neighbors Kim and Mike Guest. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Fr. William Kraynak will be officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday from 6-8 P.M. and on Monday from 9-9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
