Freda K. Friend

Freda K. Friend, 78, of Massillon passed away Saturday, December 6, at Meadow Wind Health Care Center, Massillon. She was born December 31, 1929 in Midvale, Ohio to the late George and Ivy (Swinderman) Day. Freda was an inspector for Perry Rubber and Massillon Rubber. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, traveling and camping. On July 2, 1950 she married William J. Friend Sr. and he survives along with children Kathleen (Edward) Riese of N. Lawrence, William Friend Jr. of Murfreesboro, NC, Rodney (Debra) Friend of Massillon, and Daniel (Diane) Friend of Perry Heights, OH; brother Jack (Betty) Day of Dover, OH; sister Nancy Cole of Smyrna, TN; 13 grandchildren. Freda was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, half brother William Angus, brothers Daniel Day, and Robert Day, sisters Ruby Day, and Kathryn Lewis. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd NE. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
