Fred L. Williams, age 62 of Jackson Twp., passed away July 25, 2010 at his residence. Fred was born September 29, 1947 to Charles L.R. & Mary A. (Winkler) Williams and lived most of his life in Massillon. He was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School and attended Anderson College. Following school he served in the US Army in Vietnam as a sergeant in the First Aviation Brigade and received an array of medals. Fred was a crane inspector at LTV and then was employed at SES Technical. A lifelong tiger fan he had the pleasure to play on two State Championship Football teams and never lost the spirit. He is a member of the VFW Post #3124 and the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club. Following retirement he spent as much of his time as possible on his motorcycle and the golf course. He was preceded in death by his wife Millie Williams (2006) and his mother Mary Johns (1992). He is survived by four children, Yvonne & Dan Sparks, Lucille Williams and Joshua Williams all of JacksonTwp., son, Jason Shaw of Indiana; his father, Charles L. R. Williams of Massillon; three sisters, Lana (Jack) Eggenschwiler, Karen (Bob) Mlincek and Barbie (Steve) Todich and two grandchildren, Megan & Lauren Sparks. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Thursday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will be at Brookfield Cemetery.
