Fred L. “Bud” Redmond, age 69 of Canton South, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 7, 2008. He was born in Canton on June 14, 1938 and was the son of the late Freddie & Genevieve Redmond. He was a lifelong area resident. Bud loved serving the Lord and assisting his pastor and best friend Michael Bragg at Grace Community Church. He served the church as a trustee and an adult bible school teacher. He also loved following sports and started the basketball program at Canton Baptist Temple. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he was a letter carrier for 37 years. He also drove school bus as a sub driver at Canton Local Schools. He is survived by his wife, Glenda G. (Everhart) Redmond whom he married on July 12, 1958, his children and their spouses, Shelley K (John) Truax of Canton, Shirley M. (Ed) Albright of Canton, David J. (Tonya) Redmond of Canton and Daniel D. (Pamela) Redmond of Parma Heights, Ohio, a grandson who he helped raise, Joshua J. Redmond who administered C.P.R. to Bud on Wednesday, 9 other grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his brother Robert Redmond and sister Louanna Cline both of Waynesburg, OH. A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Community Church with Pastor Michael Bragg officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call at the church on Friday (TODAY) from 1-3 & 6-8 P.M. and on Saturday one hour before the service.
