Fred J. Buck, age 85, of Massillon, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Affinity Medical Center. He was born February 12, 1925 in Massillon the son of the late Fred Buck Sr. and Sarah (Krug) Stewart. Fred was a steel worker for Republic Steel LTV, and was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during W.W.II. He was a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple since 1965. Fred was a fisherman, but after God saved him, he became a fisher of men. On April 9, 1988 Fred married Edith M. Sneed and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter Lila Wetzel of Massillon; step-sons Ron (Delores) Sneed of Canton, and Charles (Cheryl) Sneed of Ashland, OH; step-daughters Patricia (Kenneth) Whited of Parkersburg, WV, and Helen Powell of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seventeen step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great grandchild. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy (Hamlin) Buck, a sister Doris Foster, and a step-son-in-law Bill Powell. Visitation will be Sunday December 19th from 3-5 P.M. at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd NE. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. at the Massillon Baptist Temple where the family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Rev. Jay Dolvin will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers donations in Fred’s memory may be made to the Massillon Baptist Temple.
