Franklin A. Cain, age 76 of Massillon, passed away at his home with his family at his side on Saturday, July 19, 2014. He was born in Danville, VA on November 2, 1937 and was the son of the late James and Sue (Richardson) Cain. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and lived in Hawaii for 30 years. He retired from GTE. Franklin was a proud member of Alcoholic's Anonymous for over 30 years. He had a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother Omega Cain and his grandchildren Justin and Kyle Rastetter and his stepdaughter Amanda Jones. Franklin is survived by the first great miracle of his life, his wife, Carol (Johns) Cain, whom he married on July 11, 1996, his second great miracle, his daughter, Leilani Cain and her fiancé Tyler Anderson, his stepdaughters, Deanna (Kevin) Rastetter and Denise (Wesley) Farnham, his grandchildren, Alyssa Rastetter, Taylor, Wesley and Jenna Farnham and his final great miracle a grandson Franklin Anderson to be born in November. Also surviving are his brother Jerry (Shirley) Cain, nephew J. D. Cain and sisters-in-law, Sally Johns and Darlene (Bob) Kail. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2625 Ohio State Blvd SE, Massillon, OH 44646 with Bishop Corey Neddo officiating. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:00 at the church. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Children's Hospital of Akron, 1 Perkins Square, Akron, OH 44302.
