Frank O. Goodnough MD age 87 of Massillon passed away Thursday at the Massillon Campus of Affinity Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1919 in Dayton, OH to the late John Wesley & Vera (Sandefur) Goodnough. Frank was a 1937 graduate of Washington High School, a 1942 graduate of DePauw University, and a 1945 graduate of The Ohio State University Medical School. He served two years in the Army. In 1948 he opened his medical practice in Massillon and continued until his retirement in 1986. In addition to his practice he served as the Massillon City School Physician. Dr. Goodnough was past president of the YMCA and Stark County Medical Society and is still a member of the Ohio State Medical Society. His civic activities include: Rubber Capital Harmonica Club, The Gideon Society, Stark County Gem & Mineral Club, Exchange Club, and Rotary Club. In addition to his parents a sister Roberta Kelly preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Gardner) Goodnough with whom he would have shared 63 years of marriage on December 19th. Children & spouses: Arthur & Linda Goodnough of Massillon, Wesley Goodnough of Birmingham, AL, and Frances & Thomas McHolm of North Canton. Two sisters: Betty Morton of Orrville & Caryl Dibble of Bloomville, NY. Grandchildren: Paul, Katherine, Angie, Sarah, Anne, Ami, Krista, & Michael; and 12 Great Grandchildren. The funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday at Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon, his pastor Mick Robinson will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Garden.
