Frank C. Calhoun, age 80 of Navarre, died on Wednesday February 4, 2009 at his home. He was born on July 14, 1928 in Joliet, Illinois and was the son of the late Frank and Marie (Bacon) Calhoun. He was an area resident for most of his life Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Republic Steel where he was an engineer. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, the Massillon Lions Club, where he was a Past President and was instrumental in the Lions Club purchasing the theater. Other memberships included, the D.A.V. #38, the Loyal Order of the Moose #480 and the American Legion Post 221. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Alice, Evelyn, Jean, Carol and Connie. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances M. (Shaw) Calhoun of the home, his sons and daughters in law, Jack and June Sorrells of Lynnhaven, VA and Michael and Pamela Calhoun of Jackson Township, his grandchildren, Kenny (Tina) Sorrells, Ashley (Jeric) Whittaker, Keith Calhoun, David Calhoun, Rebecca Calhoun and Robert Calhoun, his great grandchildren, Sophie and Jack Sorrells and his sisters, Donna and Patty. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Fryman officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 P.M. The Massillon Lions Club will hold a service at the funeral home on Sunday at 4:00 P.M.
