Francisco “Frank” A. Galindo, 82, of Massillon, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend has left us peacefully to start his new journey on the afternoon of Thursday, September 21, 2023.
He was born on November 23, 1940 to the late Frank and Amelia (Dieguez) Galindo of Massillon, Ohio.
Frank was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1958. Soon there after, he enlisted in the Army in February 1959. Galindo was honorably discharged from the Army in 1965.
He was strong willed, determined, and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous giving heart and wonderful sense of humor. As a husband, father, and grandparent, he was fun loving, joke telling, silly song singing, game playing and guitar and harmonica entertaining. He also was a lover of the game of golf. His greatest joys were his family whom he loved spending time with.
Frank was hard working, clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences both personally and professionally. Trying his hand at several jobs throughout his life, he found his place at Central Sates Can Company/Crown Cork & Seal Co Inc where he worked until his retirement.
Frank will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Betty L. (Stroh) Galindo; children, Pamela S. (Mark) Galindo Smith, Robert L. (Kelly) Galindo, and Steven C. (Martha) Galindo; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Morgan, Garrett, Isabella, Austin, Mekenzie, and Gabriella; sisters, Anita Jewett, and Mary (Carl) Galindo Schoeppner; several nieces and a nephew; and numerous other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Galindo and brother, Robert Galindo.
Frank lived with Parkinson’s Disease for the last 20 years of his life. He battled the disease with the most amazing grace, dignity, bravery, and strength despite its devastation to his mind and body. The family requests to please consider a memorial donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or The Parkinson’s Foundation.
His family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Allay Senior Care of Meyers Lake for their care and compassion.
FOREVER LOVED, FOREVER MISSED AND FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS!
In typical Frank fashion, there are no services planned, certainly no pomp and circumstance. A private burial will occur at a later date.
His friends and family are invited to share happy memories and celebrate Frank’s life in the way he would want to be remembered at www.paquelet.com
