Francis H. Elmerick

Francis H. Elmerick, age 88 of North Canton passed away May 21, 2015. He was born April 1, 1927 in Suffield, Oh to the late Henry & Dora Elmerick. Francis was a retired employee of Ford Motor. During WW II he served in the Merchant Marines in both the Atlantic & Pacific. Francis was a member of the 555 Honors Detachment, Marlboro Volunteers, Catholic War Veterans Post #1325, K of C #554, Stark County Honor Court, a longtime volunteer at Ohio Western Reserve Nation Cemetery and American Legion Post #221. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three siblings: Robert, John & Lucille Schaefer. Francis is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda (Glutting) Elmerick. They have three sons: Thomas (Christine) Elmerick, Timothy (Shannon) Elmerick and Patrick (Kim) Elmerick. There are two grandchildren: Ciera & Blake. He has five siblings surviving: Sylvan Elmerick, Beatrice Jordan, Delores Pastore, Ruth Horning and Agnes (Henry) Taylor. He has two sisters-in-law: Carole Whitlock and Janet Ginther. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Wednesday June 3, 2015 at Little Flower Catholic Church. Burial with Military Honors will be Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery in Rittman.
