Francis H. Elmerick, age 88 of North Canton passed away May 21, 2015. He was born April 1, 1927 in Suffield, Oh to the late Henry & Dora Elmerick. Francis was a retired employee of Ford Motor. During WW II he served in the Merchant Marines in both the Atlantic & Pacific. Francis was a member of the 555 Honors Detachment, Marlboro Volunteers, Catholic War Veterans Post #1325, K of C #554, Stark County Honor Court, a longtime volunteer at Ohio Western Reserve Nation Cemetery and American Legion Post #221. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three siblings: Robert, John & Lucille Schaefer. Francis is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda (Glutting) Elmerick. They have three sons: Thomas (Christine) Elmerick, Timothy (Shannon) Elmerick and Patrick (Kim) Elmerick. There are two grandchildren: Ciera & Blake. He has five siblings surviving: Sylvan Elmerick, Beatrice Jordan, Delores Pastore, Ruth Horning and Agnes (Henry) Taylor. He has two sisters-in-law: Carole Whitlock and Janet Ginther. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Wednesday June 3, 2015 at Little Flower Catholic Church. Burial with Military Honors will be Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery in Rittman. Friends may call Wednesday at the church from 10 AM until the time of the Mass. Donations can be made to Mercy Hospice. Messages of support and sympathy can be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com.
