Frances L. Mertz

Frances L. Mertz, 85 of Navarre, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Country Lawn Nursing Home. She was born in Canton, Ohio on June 28, 1928 and was the daughter of Rome and Myrtle (Van Kirk) Moegling. They preceded her in death. She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Brewster and was the church's organist when it was formerly St. Therese Catholic Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Mertz in 1991 and her brother John "Jack" Moegling. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Barber, her son, John W. Mertz, her grandchildren, Jason (Megan) Grisez, Sean (Lori) Grisez, Danyelle Carr and Chelsey Carr, her great grandchildren, Ethan, Isaac, Rowan, Morgan and Madison and her sister, Mary Catherine Miller. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 10:30 A.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home with Fr. Edward Beneleit officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Canton.
