Frances E. Soehnlen, age 87, of Washington, DC, died early Wednesday March 4, 2009, at Georgetown University Hospital after a brief illness. She was born December 9, 1921, in Sandyville OH to the late Louis and Louisa (Baer) Soehnlen. She had lived the last 60 years in Washington, working first in the laboratory at Georgetown Hospital and later in the lab at the VA Center, from which she retired. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Washington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by fourteen siblings: Anna, Margaret, Jacob, Jennie, Ruth, John, Pauline, Louise, Sister Mary Roselle, SND (Freda), Peter, Nicholas, Robert, Mary Dolores, and Thomas. She is survived by her sister Therese McCoy of Wooster and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Monday at St. Joseph Church in Massillon, Fr. Raymond Paul will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Canton. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon Sunday from 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to her parish, St. Ann Church, 4001 Yuma St. NW, Washington DC 20016.
